![]() ![]() depending on your system you might need to change \d and \w to character classes like ] or ]. Please note: i only copy-pasted your regex please test it first with example files. type f -name "Friends*" -execdir bash -c 'mv "$1" "$ passes it on to the content of -execdirīetter explanations would be appreciated a lot :) If your linux does not offer rename, you could also use the following: find. In perl: -l0 stdout delimiter is the null byte (in octal 000).In perl and xargs: -0 stdin delimiter is the null byte (rather than space).Adjust to your use case-whether matching filenames or entire paths. In find: -printf '%P\0' print only name of files without path followed by null byte. How it works (abridged to include only changes from above) This allows you to use Perl expressions to rename files and directories. So it would not matter if some files have a different time stamp. If your files have a similar time stamp, this would work: rename -n 's/\ (2019.\)//' This would remove all strings looking like (2019.). The rename Command If your needs are more complicated than the straightforward renaming of a directory you might need to use the rename command. It can look for string patterns and replace these. Be careful here (you might want to check your output of find before you run in through a regular expression match, or worse, a destructive command like mv). Type in the new name, and click the green Rename button. Note that I tried to easily support find. The first aforementioned method uses newlines as separators. The magic here is that each process in the pipeline supports the null byte (0x00) that is used as a delimiter as opposed to spaces or newlines. Let's say I want to rename all ".txt" files to be ".md" files: find. My preferred approach, albeit more advanced. -d "\n" cuts the input by newline, instead of default space character.print $_ prints the original file name first (independent of -p).-p prints file paths that were processed by regex, -e executes inline script.type f outputs file paths (or file names.you control what gets processed by regex here!) I did not have Perl's rename readily available on my system. Results of perl -pe 'print $_ s/OldName/NewName/' | xargs -n2 end up being: OldName1.ext NewName1.ext ![]() type f | perl -pe 'print $_ s/input/output/' | xargs -d "\n" -n2 mv When combined with Perl's print $_ (to print the $STDIN first), it makes for a powerful renaming tool. Your automated media center is one filebot command away – extract archives, identify and organize media files, fetch additional artwork and metadata, update Plex, and more – the amc script does it all.Xargs -n2 makes it possible to print two arguments per line. ![]() FileBot offers a simple CLI for common use cases, and a built-in scripting engine for more complex tasks. Tennessee Republicans Begin Expelling Dems Over Gun Protest ![]() ![]() I’d just aim for performance, so avoiding complex checks and data structures. I’m being intentionally vague on the “rules”, this is all up for discussion and I don’t have strong opinions here. If there’s a clean up stage after, not necessarily immediately after, etc etc. Weak ordering would be: a transform pass should be cleaned up afterwards. Passes could register with some properties to be checked, etc. Strong ordering would be: a memref pass should run after “at least one” bufferization pass. This is similar to what LLVM does, but much simpler, so we may get away with a simpler model, too. If passes “knew” they had to pass before/after certain other passes, then we could emit an error at the pipeline construction time. But if it didn’t find it because it was before/after another pass (classic example: bufferization), then it’s an error. Weak/Strong Orderīy construction, if a pass doesn’t find its intended target match, it exists successfully. Pass bundles would solve one problem: it’d make composition more natural by not making it a matter for the user which passes do add in which order, but the API. Or more, we could common analysis/cleanup passes between two consecutive bundles, if neither of them invalidate each other, for example. ![]() But once added to the pass manager, it doesn’t necessarily have to continue as a block. We could even have a class PassBundle that represents a natural sequence of passes that always come together, if necessary. ![]() For example, it’s common to pass canonicalization and CSE after heavier transform passes, so a addCleanupPasses() method would add them both.īut also, and perhaps more importantly, there are passes that should always run together, either to avoid canonicalizations in between, or because of dialect or shape guarantees (without having to pass information through metadata), or to avoid bufferization in between, etc. Methods that add a group of passes that usually go together. The first feature I’d like to add, which is similar to LLVM’s builder, is pass bundles. So, to be clear, this is NOT a proposal for a “New Pass Manager for MLIR”, it’s just for adding a builder pattern to it, and some relaxations to the pipeline to match. At least not at a first approach, so it’s possible one day we’ll get there. Much like LLVM’s alternative, this is something that helps one build a pipeline using pass managers, but unlike LLVM’s, the MLIR version doesn’t need all the complexity of dependencies, intersections, etc. ![]() In the end, every framework or compiler would need to account for every alternative or experiment in order to make use of their dialects and passes. Moreover, due to the nature of MLIR, combining dialects, injecting alternative passes, lowering and side-conversions are not only allowed, but encouraged. Pipeline builder classes end up being more complex and brittle to changes. Compilers can use them in a similar way as LLVM, but the construction of the pipeline becomes more fragmented when radically different decisions are taken at the high level, for example, to target CPUs or GPUs or accelerators, different dialects being present or not, etc. MLIR pipelines are quite different beasts. Compilers are given simple option bundles (like O3 or Oz) and the complexity is then inside the pipeline itself, which takes into account target preferences and some user choices, etc. LLVM’s pipelines are usually very monolithic. MLIR, on the other hand, is more static ( runBefore can’t skip anything) but it has an explicit verification before runAfter steps. LLVM’s new pass manager has a more elaborate, dynamic pipeline, where the runBefore method can skip a pass, and where a set of future dependencies are intersected after each pass. They both allow you to add analysis and transformation passes, they both have a pass instrumentation with runBefore and runAfter methods, they both invalidate analysis and chain the passes together, either via some addPasses function or command line arguments to an opt-like tool. ![]() The need for an outer layer to the pass managerīoth LLVM and MLIR pass managers are reasonably similar in intent. If anyone has a better idea, I’m all ears. Disclaimer: Most of these ideas are still fresh in my mind, I’m not claiming this is the way. ![]() ![]() ![]() For this go-around, Tennant is back promoting the fundraising initiative with a new trailer – but this time, he's brought actor, comedian & writer Sir Lenny Henry along for the ride. What about the willingness to fight? The Human Response to StressĪlthough we are obviously influenced by Lovecraft in terms of tone, we never really thought of things in the strict “insanity” filter that many Call of Cthulhu games adopt. More specifically, the ability to fight is only half the equation. Taken together, those considerations led us to focus almost exclusively on the sword arm, not the sword. To be fair, some of those are done incredibly well, and we’ve clicked and right-triggered to the best of them, but they rely on a huge amount of procedural loot generation and the game becomes all about finding the next larger sword. In addition, we wanted to make something that stood in stark contrast to the "loot pinata" style of RPG. We started asking: how would the hero feel? Situations are presented as purely a player’s choice whether to face down a terrifying monster with only 1 HP left. However, many RPGs lose sight of the human element. We’re big fans of RPGs, ranging from classic old games like the Bard’s Tale series, Eye of the Beholder, Ultima Underworld, etc., on up to Diablo, Dark Souls, and contemporary MMOs. Push heroes to their limit, and they will break mentally. To be successful, you need to consider the human factors on the way to accomplishing your goals. The Affliction system puts the player squarely in the role of a team manager, squad leader, or hockey coach. This becomes a bit of a board game in terms of trying to make the most of R&R between quests. However, there are limited slots in town for each activity, and each hero has their own personal preferences on what they like. To reduce stress, you need to give heroes time off between missions and let them unwind in the ways that people do: drinking, gambling, meditation, prayer, and more. This puts them in an incredibly useful Heroic state, where they may inspire the other team members or fight at increased effectiveness. Sometimes, a hero will pass the Affliction check. ![]() For example, a selfish hero may take treasure for themselves, a hopeless hero may give up fighting, and a paranoid hero may become convinced that the other party members are enemies. The different afflictions cause a wide variety of different game behaviors. Heroes can become selfish, abusive, hopeless, paranoid, afraid, masochistic, or just plain irrational. Afflictions are different ways that people respond to stress. If they fail the check (which is common), they manifest a temporary condition of reduced effectiveness - an Affliction. This is presented in game as a stress meter on each hero. When the stress meter reaches 100, heroes face an Affliction check. As heroes adventure, their stress levels build. The centerpiece of this is the Affliction System. What if a hero was unwilling to fight?ĭarkest Dungeon is about the psychological toll of adventuring. The ability and skill to fight is only half of the equation. What: Modelling an adventurer's mental health with the Affliction System Both of us have enjoyed the small-scale production, where limited resources breed creativity and force hard decisions. Right now we have six full-time people working on the game, plus our sound (Power Up Audio), music (Stuart Chatwood), and narration (Wayne June) contractors. Over the course of the game’s development, we built up a team of experienced collaborators to help make the game a reality. We were willing to bet that if we did that, there would be a decently sized niche audience that would also like it and thereby support the business. ![]() We were excited by the chance to work on a game that had no external compromises-something purely made by us, for us, the way we wanted it to be. We’d get together and brainstorm various ideas, but the one we were most captivated by was Darkest Dungeon.īoth of us freed up in the spring of 2013, and we decided it was now or never, so Red Hook Studios was born.
